CMS Wants to Increase MA Rates by $16 Billion in 2025

Medicare Advantage rates will go up by 3.7 percent in 2025, giving plans an extra $16 billion compared with this year, according to the proposed payment updates for the plans. The proposal also offers updates to MA payment growth rates and changes to the MA and Part D payment methodologies with the goal of improving payment accuracy. There was hope by many in the industry that CMS would deal more with the billions in overpayments to the plans but critics say this proposal will not go far enough to stem the problem. Click here for the CMS fact sheet, and here for the proposal.
